Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in
- Leonard Cohen from "Anthem"
One of the primary causes of suffering is our belief that we have to be perfect in order to be loved.
Since we came into embodied existence, we believed that we are separate from Source, or separate from God.
In truth we are not separate at all. So we develop a personality strategy to get love and we believe
that one of those ways is to be perfect. As a result, we move through life trying to fix something
we believe is broken.
The great cosmic irony is that we're trying to fix something that isn’t broken. We're already perfect
and whole as we are.
We need to give up the need to be perfect. We're all composed of different textures, shapes
and sizes. We are the way we're meant to be. It’s time to relax into our imperfections and realize they
are perfection: Godly perfection.
It's in the brokenness that we evolve and grow. It’s through these cracks that the light of awareness moves
into our being. Over time, we accumulate new cracks and our texture becomes even richer.
It’s time to embrace our cracks and imperfections. It's time to realize there's no such thing as perfection — that
we are perfect and whole as we are.
